COMMUNITY Care and Transport operations and risk manager Erica Singh received the Excellence in Volunteer Management Award at the South Australian Volunteer Awards last week.

The award was presented to Erica for her demonstrated dedication to good practice in volunteer management, the delivery of volunteer programs and quality volunteer experiences.

“In her role, Erica empowers the 180 volunteers and 11 staff in her charge with the resources and support they need to achieve collective outcomes and consistently ensures that volunteering with the organisation is safe, inclusive, accessible and meaningful,” an awards spokesperson said.

“Regarded as a transformational leader who enables her people and organisation to consistently perform above industry benchmarks, Erica operates ethically and with humility, showing an inclusive and adaptive leadership style.

“Erica is passionate about helping others stay independent and connected in their own homes.

“In the past financial year, she supported the Yorke Peninsula volunteer service to transport more than 2000 clients.”

In her acceptance speech, Erica acknowledged the remarkable team of volunteers and staff at Care in Motion.

“We are so incredibly proud of Erica and her achievement along with her commitment to our wonderful organisation, Care in Motion,” CEO David McDonald said. “She is an awesome member of our brilliant team.”
